This is a place like heaven on earth, tucked away in the rain forest, sitting on a slope of a hill overlooking the Coral Sea. It’s also the first place I have ever been to where I have seen a wild cassowary (this one foraging along the pathway up to the main lodge). Simple but tastefully furnished cabins with ensuite bathrooms and balcony or rainforest huts screened on all four sides provide accommodation suited to all budgets. If you want to cook your own meal, cooking facilities are available in the communal area; the restaurant offers a cuisine which specialises in locally grown fresh food and especially caters for vegetarians.
